program:

Part 1: a-capella

* Hymn to Santa Cecilia - Benjamin Britten: a superb piece, probably one of the most beautiful pieces written for choir in the 20th century. It is a very challenging piece with contrasting parts, and its main theme is music itself and the way it comes into play in human life.
*Three songs for choir - "Dieu! Qu'il la fait bon regarder!", "Quant j'ai ouy le tabourin", "Yver, vous n'estes qu'un villain" - Claude Debussy
* Cantique de Jean Racine - Gabriel Faure - with a piano accompaniment played by our pianist Itai Dvori, who is also a tenor in the choir.
* Tutto lo di - Orlando di-Lasso

Part 2: Solo

* Tal Gazit, a soprano in the choir, sang two pieces by Dowland with lute accompaniment by Ziv Beraha, and songs by Brahms and Schumann with Itai Dvori on the piano.
* Three pieces for recorders played by Drora Bruck, Uri Smilanski and Tal Arbel

Part 3: Cantata 106

J.S. Bach's Cantata 106, "Actus Tragicus", one of Bach's most beautiful early Cantatas. The accompaniment included two recorders (Drora Bruck, Uri Smilanski), two viola da-gamba (Tal Arbel, Naama Jacoby), and continuo (Sasha Agranov - Cello, Itai Dvori - organ). Solo parts were sung by choir members: Tal Gazit - Soprano, Gila Brill - Alto, Boaz Brill - Tenor, Eran Talis - Baritone, Uri Yudkin - Bass.
